| Hello all,
I'm sure you've all heard of RICE which stands for Rice Inter-Church Evangelism...I think.
Anyway, it's an event held every year by a number of churchs in hope of spreading the gospel to the youths of Sydney, which is a great cause. Yesterday night I had a meeting for all youth group leaders (I'm not sure why I tagged along), but it was an inspiring night, seeing how people were dedicated to spreading the gospel that Jesus has left us.
One of the points that was driven home and I guess is a reminder to us all, is that RICE is not about getting together and just having fun, but really about proclaiming Christ himself. Sam, one of the leaders there was sharing, how often we as Christians just sometimes want to switch off our 'need to spread' the gospel. That sometimes, over a coffee, we just want to stop looking for chances to preach.
But that's not the way it works. Christianity is a full time job and requires lifetime committment.
It's a daunting task, and indeed, it's probably not what people want to hear. People like to hear about faiths that bring about joy and health and goodies in life. Christianity offers that, but it also requires that you abandon the world, which alot of people including myself are still trying to commit to.
So my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, you can do it (with a lot of help from God).

| Quite an eventful traintrip today. Daniel once quoted that there are three kinds of people on the train, those who do work, those who sleep and those who just sit there. I'm not sure if Daniel said 3, but anyway, it was along the lines of the different people you see on trains. I think there's more, like those who read books, those who listen to music and then SOMETIMES, you get people who chat.
So I found myself in the last scenario today as I took the 55min trip back to Campbelltown today with Vance. I found out quite a few things today during the course of that trip: 1) Vance's knowledge of history is incomprehendable 2) Stalin was crazy 3) Hitler wasn't so crazy 4) Why Jews are always seeminly to be at war
There was more, but in the end I think I could safely conclude that: Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I always found that quote pretty awsome and now I finally get to use it.
Oh on another not so great note, on one of my assignments I recieved feedback which included: should proofread more. May consider getting help from native english speaker.
Yes, killed my ego, especially since I 'tutor' english.
Cruel world.
Oh also, I realised tutors have a dark sense of humour, demonstrated when one of my tutors mentions: "Overall you guys did pretty good, only a few failed <giggles>"
That is all.

| A funny quote I found:
whoever
said nothing is impossible, never tried slamming a revolving door.... | | |
| Don't you hate it when your searching for something and you pratically turn the whole house around to look for it. Somehow, these little objects, whatever they may be, whether the assignment sheet you wanted to start on, or a simple note that you needed, will never turn up when you look for them. You can look everywhere, and by some means of hypnosis, they will avoid you.
So you give up.
And then you find it, either an hour later, a day later or even a week. Time is of no importance. What is important is that you no longer really care about that thing and there it is.
Man does that suck.
On a positive note, I now officially know what a "tequilla sunrise" is which I think is a pretty awsome name for a drink. That shall be my new "too look rad" drink.
